"Welcome to Blooms at Borrowdale"

Working from my home, "Borrowdale" & garden workshop based on the fringes of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the village of Holton Le Clay,

I passionately teach and create floral art & floristry

Winning many awards for my floral designs including an RHS GOLD Medal and having qualifications and many years experience in horticulture, floristry, teaching and demonstrating, my life really does evolve around flowers.  It's a wonderful world to be a part of, what could be better than designing with floral materials and bringing pleasure to others, whether customers, students or members of an audience.

Spreading the joy is really what it's all about, enabling people to get in touch with their creative side and igniting interest and enthusiasm.

There are so many ways to enjoy flowers and get involved so why not start your own journey today.....you never know where it may take you.

Shop Re-opening

Great News.... As of Wednesday 1st July our little concession will be open again within Damselfly Living

in the beautiful Market Town of Louth.

It seems such a long time since the doors where closed, way back in March, but we are looking forward to re-opening safely and hope many of you will venture back out to support the local businesses in the town.  We really need your support at this time.

Thank you

It's Business as Usual (albeit rather Unusual)

Your lesson is now Virtual!!

It is with great sadness that at this time I am unable to welcome you to my flower school in person.  For those studying the certificated courses Levels 1, 2 & 3 I am able to offer video call sessions via Skype that will cover the theory and some practical you require to enable you to continue to work towards your certificates.

This has proved very successful and will help to keep you on track.

For those not studying these courses but would like to learn how to arrange seasonal flowers I can also offer virtual sessions via video call.  This works exactly the same as if you were with me in person, only you have to make your own brew!

These sessions can be taken in two ways, either Practical or Demo Only.  For demo only I would go through step by step how to create the design and for a practical session you would have the necessary materials to make the design at home during that session, this would suit someone with a little experience and who had already got a few essential

sundries available to them.

For both practical and demo only you would have my many years of skills, knowledge and tutoring experience on a

one 2 one basis as you would if you came to my flower school in person.

After an initial chat to discuss your session we would book in a convenient day & time for us to start,

hook up and away we go.

We are living in very scary and difficult times and the need for flowers in our lives has never been greater.  They take you on a wonderful journey, out of reality for just a short while & channel your energy into something creative & beautiful.  My sessions have often been described as therapy and they are I guess for a great many people.  We all love flowers and learning how to arrange them and we all need to be taken out of our lives every now and then....it is therapy & great for our mental well-being.

If you would like any further details or wish to have a chat about virtual sessions please get in touch via my contacts page.

I look forward to hearing from you

Keep in touch & stay safe

Love to Learn

Teaching is my passion and is a large proportion of my weekly life, I meet new people and continue to enjoy the company of those that I have taught and continue to teach in many aspects of this craft.

As a tutor I also Love to Learn and I gave myself the opportunity to travel to Belgium to attend workshops with three International Floral Designers, Annick Mertens, Geert Pattyn and Moniek Vanden Berghe.

This was a truly amazing experience that I will never forget and hugely inspiring.

It is very important for me to continue to work hard to learn new skills and gain inspiration from many places.

It keeps things interesting and the creative fires burning!

Following the trip ECT asked for an interview with me to discuss all things floral
